Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, marketing professional to join Lancaster University’s Portfolio Marketing Team for one year to cover a secondment. A team player, you should have excellent communications skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and the confidence to work with multiple stakeholders with competing requirements.

Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager, this role supports the Portfolio Marketing Team by creating high quality engaging and compelling written and digital content.

The role is based within the Portfolio Marketing Team, who lead on subject-level marketing for student recruitment. We use content marketing across the whole applicant journey, from top of funnel marketing such as advertising and prospectuses, through our website and social media, to more personalised marketing communications via our email communications. The content you write will feature in all this activity; join us to help share our teaching and research portfolio to our future students.

As well as creative writing skills, you should have excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all areas of work. Good IT and analytical skills are essential. As is the ability to work on your own initiative and respond to creative briefs.

Experience of using content management systems and design, photo-editing and email marketing software would be an advantage but are not essential as training and support will be provided.

This is a busy role and you must have the ability to multi-task, to self-motivate and to manage your own workload. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is essential.

This is a full-time, one-year fixed post based at our Lancaster campus, where hybrid on-site and home working is currently offered subject to line manager approval. A minimum of two days must be worked on campus including Thursdays. Preference to fully work on campus can be accommodated if desired. Please note that this post will require you to work during the clearing and confirmation period – usually mid-August around A level results day. Leave during this period will be restricted.
