Cleaners (UP West – Weekend Posts) (Part Time)

Job Description:

Your role as a Cleaner:

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking people, who have a keen eye for detail, take pride in their work and who enjoy cleaning in a variety of areas to join our team of cleaners at the University Park West Team.

Based at either Portland Building or Hallward Library and with potential to move between other buildings within the University Park Campus, main duties will include cleaning a wide range of areas providing general and specialised cleaning within the buildings. This includes

the general cleaning of library areas, retails outlets, toilets, communal areas, corridors, and stairwells, etc. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service at all times and will work either independently or as a part of a team.

This role will include frequent lifting of above 10kg and moving of a range of items that can be heavy. The role can be physically demanding but lifting aids and full training will be provided.

Previous cleaning experience gained within a similar environment and the ability to work independently and as part of a team is desirable but not essential.

Positions Available

Weekend Post 1: Hours of work 6 hours per week (2 days of 7 to be arranged per week/ mainly Saturday and Sunday), between 6am - 9.00am. Flexibility will be required.

Weekend Post 2: Hours of work 8 hours per week (2 days of 7 to be arranged per week/ mainly Saturday and Sunday), between 6am - 10.00am. Flexibility will be required.

These positions are offered a permanent basis working on a rolling contract 52-weeks of the year basis to include student vacation periods and will attract 15% pay uplift allowance for any hours worked at the weekend.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend induction training courses which will run each month, Monday to Friday on University Park Campus. Further details will be given at interview.
