About NUBS China
Nottingham University Business School China is an integral part of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and delivers world-class business programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, postdoctoral and executive levels. The Business School has been awarded the prestigious Triple Crown accreditation by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA-a distinction held by fewer than 1% of business schools worldwide.
NUBS China currently has over 3,621 Chinese and international students with around 894 enrolled in postgraduate programmes including PhD programme. We have a diverse international faculty of 120, based in Ningbo China, coming from 18 countries and regions. English is the medium of instruction of all our programmes. We have strengthened our focus on high impact research, customised executive education and high-quality teaching and are expanding our academic staff accordingly. We have a vibrant research community emphasising research excellence. NUBS China is an international academic gateway for research on business, finance and economics in China and a centre of expertise on Chinese firms going global.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Deliver consistently excellent teaching and support for student learning, influencing others via own practice; develop and apply high quality and appropriate teaching techniques and materials.
- Design, develop and deliver a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new modules at various levels; develop business cases based upon market intelligence and commercial knowledge.
- Lead on the design and quality control of modules and/or programmes of study in specialist area ensuring the curriculum is up to date and international in its scope.
- Deliver teaching-related scholarly outputs, evidenced by publication of teaching cases, journal articles directly advancing teaching and learning, authorship of teaching-related textbooks or scholarly book chapters, and/or publications in practice-oriented outlets focused on educational practice.
- Secure funding from external sources (industry, community, government) to support teaching and learning activities.
- Undertake leadership roles in academic administration for own department/school or faculty in areas such as admissions, recruitment, timetabling, examinations, student attendance, and placement.
About You
NUBS China seeks to appoint proactive, mature academics who are self-driven and results-oriented, resilient, and creative, with internationally recognised intellectual contributions in the relevant subject area.
- A PhD degree in relevant subject area;
- Extensive experience in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching in higher education; evidence of innovation in curriculum development, course design and course delivery; commitment of delivery of quality services to students;
- Demonstrated substantial professional experience in sustainability and governance sectors (e.g., policy advisory, corporate sustainability roles, or governance consulting);
- Ability and passion to work in the multicultural environment of UNNC; and
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Your Remuneration, Benefits, and Support
A successful candidate will be offered a five-year contract. Salary will be within the range of RMB 635,038 to RMB 780,622 per annum depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance) and you will have a range of benefits and entitlements, including accommodation allowance, insurances, schooling support, home flight, relocation & repatriation support, and paid annual leave.
