Your next opportunity
As an Academic Tutor you will deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes aligned with Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic sciences, with a strong emphasis on real-world science and technologies. Help contribute to curriculum development by embedding current industry standards, emerging technologies, and professional competencies into module content.
Provide discipline-specific teaching in a core area of pharmaceutical and/or cosmetic science, prepare high-quality teaching materials, be domain and industry-aligned and pedagogically effective. Regularly review and enhance module content, assessment strategies, and learning activities to reflect developments in your core area of science.
Contribute to key institutional priorities by supporting student recruitment, retention, and progression, and by enhancing graduate employability through industry-focused teaching, skills development, and employer engagement. Provide academic support and guidance that helps students build confidence, professional awareness, and readiness for careers in the pharmaceutical sector.
Please note this role has varied hours each week, and we expect to require approximately 150hrs per post.
Is this you?
The successful candidate should have recent experience of university teaching across the (pharmaceutical associated sciences) core areas of:
- Pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry
- Analytical chemistry
- Pharmaceutics and/or formulation science
- Molecular and cellular biology
You should hold a PhD or other form of Doctoral qualification in a relevant area aligned with pharmaceutical sciences. You will also have a current membership of and/or high-level professional standing with a Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) relevant to the School.
