Job Description:
Join the team at the David Ross Sports Village, one of the UK’s leading university sports facilities, and play a key role in delivering an outstanding sporting experience for students, staff, members, and visitors.
About the role
As Duty Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the David Ross Sports Village, helping to ensure the highest standards of customer service, health and safety, housekeeping, maintenance, and programme delivery. You will lead and motivate operational teams including reception, cleaning, and facility staff, while supporting the delivery of large-scale sporting events, activity programmes, and facility operations.
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for maintaining operational standards, supporting staff development and training, responding to customer enquiries, overseeing maintenance processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. You will also deputise for the Sports Village Manager where required.

About you
We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual with:
· Experience in sports centre or swimming pool operations at Duty Manager level or above
· Experience supervising, motivating, and developing teams
· Strong customer service, communication, and organisational skills
· Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and operational compliance
· The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
A current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (or willingness to achieve within six months) is essential.
