    This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.


    This post is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and thriving clinical trials unit that designs and conducts high quality national and international multicentre trials across a range of health topics, collaborating with clinicians and academics within the University and local NHS trust.

    The unit is seeking to recruit a Unit and Research Coordinator to work within our multidisciplinary team.

    About you:

    You will work closely with the Senior Unit Manager and Unit Manager to develop, maintain and coordinate high quality administration within the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU). You will be responsible for the on-going coordination of efficient administrative, financial and HR systems and processes to support the Unit’s programme of work, with regular monitoring and reviewing to ensure continued quality. This will include coordinating the planning, administration and management of the support elements of the research lifecycle including costing support. You will also be responsible for the training of staff in key systems as appropriate.

    You will have considerable, relevant administrative experience with an understanding of UK clinical research life cycle, and have extensive knowledge of MS packages including Outlook, Word and Excel. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently to resolve complex queries and be able to demonstrate robust planning and organisational skills.

    NCTU is a rapidly growing UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered Clinical Trials Unit (www.ukcrc-ctu.org.uk) based in the School of Medicine at the University of Nottingham. Our mission is to conduct top quality, high impact multicentre clinical trials across a range of health areas which will improve health outcomes. We have a broad and expanding portfolio of trials. In addition, we conduct methodological work to improve the efficiency and quality of trial design, conduct, analysis and reporting. NCTU has close links with NHS Trusts, universities and industry partners.
