About the role:
As the Executive Assistant for Communications & Advocacy, your day will be fast-paced and varied, providing high-level professional support to the Directorate. You will be responsible for triaging correspondence and managing complex diaries to proactively address opportunities and challenges.
Beyond administrative duties, you will play a key role in the success of major University strategic initiatives by creating project plans, tracking timelines, and ensuring the Directorate is fully briefed and prepared for meetings.
This role places you at the heart of the External Relations department, ensuring leadership make efficient, effective decisions through your expert coordination.
About the Team
You will join the Communications & Advocacy leadership team. While your primary focus is supporting the Directorate, you are part of a collaborative wider Administrative Team. We work closely with internal stakeholders across the University. About You
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised professional who possesses:
Proven EA experience: Significant previous experience in a similar administrative or programme support role.
Strategic planning skills: Excellent ability to prioritise a high volume of work and manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
Exceptional communication skills: The ability to interface professionally with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Discretion: A high degree of maturity and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information under pressure.
Technical & Financial Literacy: Proficiency in Office 365 and experience with financial transactions, such as raising requisitions and tracking budgets.

This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week), temporary contract covering maternity leave, expected to end on 13 October 2027. If you are interested in part-time work (minimum 29 hours per week), we encourage you to apply. Please specify your preferred hours in your application.
This role is based in the Communications and Advocacy team on University Park Campus and will be offered on a hybrid basis with a blended approach of home and office working.
