About the role
The Deputy Director of Legal Services will lead the provision of expert legal services and support on a wide range of complex legal issues and be the strategic lead in areas of student, regulatory, governance and contentious areas. As part of the Legal Services leadership team, the post holder will be part of leading the development of the Legal Services team, including contributing to setting the strategic direction of the service and leading various initiatives across the service. They will deputise for the Director of Legal Services and maintain their own network and profile internally and externally with stakeholders.
About the team
As part of the recently restructured, friendly and inclusive Legal Services team, you will contribute to new initiatives, support our ESG activities (including working with the University’s School of Law) and be part of the wider University community. Legal Services is an integral part of the University’s professional services.
About you
We’re looking for a creative, strategic lawyer, with great interpersonal and people management skills and the ability to constructively challenge established ways of working, while presenting innovative solutions. You will have strong experience in contentious and regulatory matters in a Higher Education environment. You will be comfortable tackling a broad range of challenges and learning new skills along the way.
