    This is an exciting opportunity to join the vibrant School of Education and contribute to our growing portfolio of international teacher education programmes as part of the Professional Development and International Education team. We are seeking a fluent French-speaking Lecturer to support the teaching, assessment, and delivery of our PGCE Education (Distance Learning French) programme, working with trainee teachers from a range of international contexts.

    Our international teacher education provision continues to expand and currently includes PGCE Education, PGCE Education – Early Years Teaching, the Assessment Only Route to QTS, and PGCE iQTS. Alongside these programmes, we offer a range of master's degrees in education and Level 7 professional development courses.

    This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative approaches to online teacher education, supporting trainees to develop the knowledge, skills, and reflective practice required to succeed in contemporary educational settings. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the student experience, promoting high-quality teaching and learning, and supporting trainee teachers to achieve professional success in diverse international contexts.

    Is this you?

    The successful candidate will have substantial experience in teacher education, teaching, and learning, and will contribute to the planning, delivery, and assessment of teaching across the PGCE Education (Distance Learning) and PGCE Education (Distance Learning) delivered in French, with a particular focus on supporting international trainee teachers.

    They will be committed to delivering high-quality, research-informed teacher education that inspires, empowers, and equips trainees with the knowledge, skills, and professional attributes required for success in diverse educational contexts. The postholder will support trainees in developing reflective, evidence-informed practice and will work closely with mentors and school-based colleagues to enhance trainee progress, professional effectiveness, and global employability.

    Applicants must hold a minimum of a master's degree or an equivalent professional qualification and demonstrate excellent written and spoken French.
