    Overview of the Role


    Are you medically qualified and ambitious with an interest in surgical research? Do you have experience of working in General Surgery Do you want to further your career by undertaking a PhD in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?

    You will support and undertake research as part of the academic surgery research group. Your research will focus on the prevention of intestinal anastomotic leak. You will lead your own studies in this area, including methods development and clinical studies and contribute to the work of the research group as a whole.

    During your employment you will also work towards a PhD at the University of Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity if you are a general surgical trainee, especially if you are aiming to sub specialise in colorectal surgery or pursue an academic career. You will be medically qualified with MRCP or equivalent and full GMC registration.
