The role
An exciting opportunity for a Technical and Administrative Assistant in the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering (part time 0.5 FTE, fixed term contract upto 5 months).
The Administrative Assistant will support daily laboratory, workshop, or technical operations by preparing equipment, assisting with routine tests, and maintaining safe, organised workspaces. They will provide reliable organisational and clerical support to ensure smooth day to day operations.
The role involves managing communications, coordinating schedules, maintaining records, and supporting staff with administrative tasks. The postholder will act as a first point of contact for enquiries and help keep workflows efficient and well organised. The role also includes data recording, basic analysis, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. The postholder works closely with technical staff and researchers, providing reliable hands on support to keep experiments, teaching sessions, or engineering activities running smoothly.

The postholder will have attention to detail, practical technical ability, good organisation, and effective teamwork.
