    Do you want to become a key member of our Finance Systems team, supporting and enhancing the University finance system- Unit4Business World (UBW)? If yes, then this fixed-term role may be of interest.

    The University of Kent is seeking a Finance Systems Officer, who will work closely with the Finance Systems Analyst, to support the Finance Systems Team and the effective use of the University’s finance system, Unit4 Business World (UBW). You will contribute to the University’s finance systems strategy by managing the helpdesk, responding to user queries, assisting with the maintenance of user access rights, and supporting a range of activities to ensure the system remains effective and is continuously improved in collaboration with team members and key stakeholders. You will be the first point of contact for most UBW queries and must use initiative and strong time management skills to ensure customer needs are met.

    As a Finance Systems Officer you can expect to be involved in:

    • Serving as the first point of contact for enquiries relating to support of the finance system (UBW), assisting 300+ users, answering queries, resolving problems
    • Assisting with the maintenance, upgrading cycle of the UBW finance system, including planning, testing, and deployment
    • Supporting the Finance Systems Analyst by monitoring automated jobs, subsequent alerts, identifying system corrections, assisting in debugging user errors and system bugs, preparation of SQL coding for reports/extracts/system corrections

    What will you bring to the role?

    • Experience in using and supporting finance accounting systems, ideally experience with UNIT4 Business World (UBW)
    • Experience of working in a helpdesk capacity or customer support role
    • Ability to prioritise demanding workloads, work to tight timescales whilst using initiative to manage multiple projects
