Job Description:
Working closely with the School’s academics, administrative team and colleagues across the Faculty of Social Sciences, your role will be to coordinate and deliver a range of operational processes across the academic year, including student induction, timetabling, assessment, quality assurance and seminar administration. You will provide specialist operational advice and delivery and ensure an excellent experience for students and staff.
Key responsibilities
· Deliver and coordinate operational support across education, student experience, core operations and selected events.
· Coordinate education administration including assessment processes, module enrolment, timetabling, curriculum review, Moodle updates, Extenuating Circumstances and external examiner activity.
· Support annual monitoring, quality assurance and enhancement processes.
· Maintain accurate and accessible information on Moodle and Student Information Hub pages.
· Coordinate School events; including seminar programmes, conferences, prizes and scholarships.
· Contribute to School communications, including web and digital content.
· Work flexibly across the Operations team to meet peak periods and changing priorities.
· Contribute to projects, initiatives and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
About you
You will bring strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment. You will be confident working independently and collaboratively, building effective relationships across the School, Faculty and University.
Essential skills
· Experience of working in a fast-paced operational or administrative role with competing deadlines.
· Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
· Strong IT skills, including confident use of spreadsheets and databases.
· Ability to work flexibly, use initiative and provide excellent customer service.
· A Levels (or equivalent) including English and Maths, or substantial relevant experience.
Desirable experience
· Experience working in higher education or research support.
· Knowledge of HE systems and processes.
· Experience using Campus Solutions, Moodle and/ or similar systems.
· Familiarity with Power Platform tools and/or project management methods.
