Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe are looking for a compassionate, organised, and customer-focused Clinical Administrator to join our busy and supportive University Health and Counselling Service (UHCS) team.This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a fast-paced healthcare environment. As one of the first points of contact for students accessing the service, you will help create a calm, welcoming, and professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.You will provide exceptional reception and administrative support while managing appointments, responding to enquiries, and supporting clinicians and counselling teams with essential operational processes.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a people-focused environment, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, and can confidently manage sensitive information with professionalism and care.Comprehensive training will be provided in medical systems, privacy legislation, and healthcare processes. Key responsibilities include:Providing warm, professional, and efficient frontline customer service to students and visitorsManaging reception duties, appointments, bookings, cancellations, and patient enquiriesSupporting students accessing medical and counselling services, including triaging urgent matters appropriatelyHandling sensitive clinical and personal information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalismCoordinating appointment scheduling to support fair and efficient access to servicesManaging phone calls, inboxes, and communications between patients and clinical teamsSupporting clinicians and counsellors with administrative tasks, documentation, and service coordinationProcessing payments, receipting, enrolments, and maintaining accurate student and patient recordsSupporting operational processes including scanning, records management, and document handlingContributing to a positive, collaborative, and student-centred team environmentThis role also involves participating in ongoing training, including emergency response and clinical support training, within a healthcare setting.This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week).The salary range is $55,634 - $62,900 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.For more information, please review the Position Description. Do you have excellent organisation skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively?The University has recently invested £1.2M to expand ‘The Edge’ sports facility and provides state of the art fitness and class equipment, offering a range of classes and aquatics activities and 25 metre 8 lane swimming pool.As a Recreation Assistant you will work as part of a large team ensuring that the environment is safe for use and that a high level of customer service is maintained at all times. Alongside your responsibility for lifeguarding, you will undertake a range of duties including cleaning tasks, setting up sport areas and moving equipment safely.You will have a current Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS) lifeguard qualification (or equivalent) and ideally have experience working as a lifeguard, ensuring you keep up to date with the monthly lifeguard training.
