We are seeking to appoint Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTFs) to support the on-going delivery of the graduate entry MBChB programme within the Three Counties Medical School (TCMS) at the University of Worcester. The School’s MBChB curriculum is centred around problem-based learning (PBL), active applied learning (e.g. simulation), with an emphasis on early patient contact and community-orientated clinical placements. Founded with the aim of widening access to careers in medicine and retaining graduates in the local area, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team, which opened to students in September 2023. Applications are invited for Clinical Teaching Fellows at 0.6 FTE (3 days per week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) in Anatomy, Physiology and Clinical Skills. These are career development posts at FY2/ST level to facilitate the learning of the next generation of doctors. You will be involved in developing and delivering active learning sessions in the practical application of anatomy, physiology and clinical skills primarily in Phase 1 (Years 1&2). You will receive training from a team of enthusiastic clinical educators and will have opportunities for professional development, including support with gaining a teaching qualification. Applicants will have a keen interest in medical education and training. Applicants must be registered with the GMC and have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience after graduation from medical school. The Medical School has close relations with local NHS primary and secondary care providers, and we can support you in seeking clinical opportunities alongside academic commitments.  The posts are based at the Severn campus. They will be fixed term appointments for 12 months. Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the coordination and delivery of several multi-centre clinical trials at the Liggins Institute, with a focus on maternal and neonatal health research.As a Senior Human Health Research Coordinator, you will provide operational leadership across a portfolio of complex clinical trials conducted in collaboration with hospitals and research teams throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day coordination and management of studies from start-up through to close-out, ensuring studies are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilities will include preparing and coordinating ethics and locality submissions, managing study documentation and trial master files, overseeing recruitment and site engagement activities, monitoring study progress and data quality, and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ethical standards, and study protocols. You will work closely with Principal Investigators, clinicians, research staff, Te Whatu Ora, external collaborators, and participants to support effective trial delivery across multiple sites.The role will also involve developing and maintaining strong working relationships with site teams, facilitating communication across stakeholders, supporting participant recruitment strategies, preparing reports for ethics committees, funders, and governance groups, and contributing to problem-solving and operational planning for complex studies.As a senior member of the team, you will provide mentorship and guidance to other research coordinators and support a collaborative and high-performing research environment. You may also contribute to grant applications, protocol development, staff training, and continuous improvement initiatives within the research platform.This position requires excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and confidence working independently within a clinical research environment.
