We are seeking applications for a 5 month Senior Research Associate to work within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Lancaster University, as a part of the EPSRC grant "Exploring and exploiting new representations for multivariate extremes".This grant focuses on developing understanding of geometric representations of extremes, and how these can be used to provide state-of-the-art statistical methodology for multivariate extreme value problems. The Principal Investigator on the grant is Jennifer Wadsworth and the postdoc position will be based in Lancaster.Your role would be to work, both independently and together with the PI and collaborators, on statistical methodology for, and applications of, multivariate extreme value theory. You will publish and disseminate results via journal articles, conference presentations and open source computer code.You should have completed, or be close to completing a PhD in statistics, data science or a closely related discipline. You should have a good record of research in terms of submitted and draft publications, and be able to demonstrate strong programming skills (e.g. R, Matlab, C++). Experience with multivariate extreme value theory is essential, whilst experience with the so-called “geometric approach” to multivariate extremes would be highly advantageous.The position is available from September 1st 2026, and will run for a maximum of 5 months. Are you medically qualified and currently practicing in psychiatry within an NHS organisation, with demonstrable expertise in clinical research and education in this field? We are seeking an inspirational researcher, educator and role model to join both the Kent and Medway Medical School as a clinical academic and the Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust as a Consultant Psychiatrist. This is a joint appointment with Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust and approximately 50% of the role will be carried out under an honorary consultant contract with the Trust in adult psychiatry. Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the coordination and delivery of several multi-centre clinical trials at the Liggins Institute, with a focus on maternal and neonatal health research.As a Senior Human Health Research Coordinator, you will provide operational leadership across a portfolio of complex clinical trials conducted in collaboration with hospitals and research teams throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day coordination and management of studies from start-up through to close-out, ensuring studies are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilities will include preparing and coordinating ethics and locality submissions, managing study documentation and trial master files, overseeing recruitment and site engagement activities, monitoring study progress and data quality, and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ethical standards, and study protocols. You will work closely with Principal Investigators, clinicians, research staff, Te Whatu Ora, external collaborators, and participants to support effective trial delivery across multiple sites.The role will also involve developing and maintaining strong working relationships with site teams, facilitating communication across stakeholders, supporting participant recruitment strategies, preparing reports for ethics committees, funders, and governance groups, and contributing to problem-solving and operational planning for complex studies.As a senior member of the team, you will provide mentorship and guidance to other research coordinators and support a collaborative and high-performing research environment.
