About the Role/You Based at Sutton Bonington Campus and working across all University sites, this role will assist in the maintenance of University Grounds & Gardens, including water features and Sports Grounds.Main duties will include:· All aspects of staff supervision including allocating tasks and drawing up work schedules.· Duties include managing extensive mature borders, amenity and formal planted areas, and supporting the re wilding of designated Campus areas.· Day-to-day supervision of the use and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, completing associated documentation to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and University policies.· Preparation and staffing of projects and events such as Graduation ceremonies, Sporting Tournaments, and Conferences.· Dealing with out-of-hours emergencies such as storm damage or gritting. .Qualifications: Candidates should be qualified to NVQ2 or 3 and/or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Amenity Horticulture Practices or equivalent level qualifications from appropriate professional bodies. Candidates must have extensive experience working in Amenity Horticulture/Grounds maintenance, be able to undertake a wide range of duties, and have supervisory experience gained within a similar role.Due to the frequency with which the post holder will drive vehicles involved in grounds maintenance operations and transport materials between university sites, candidates must hold a valid driving license.The post will be offered on a full-time (36.25 hours per week), permanent contract. 36.25 per week to be worked between the hours of 7:30am to 3:30pm mainly Monday to Friday with flexibility to work occasional weekends as required. Job share arrangements may be considered. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team and work on an exciting new research project that will use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods to study the journey of capsule formulations through the gastrointestinal tract. For this new study, the successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of the project, from coordination to liaising with the industrial partner, from recruiting participants to running MRI study days, analysing data and writing up project reports, scientific abstracts and papers. You will join our established, multi-disciplinary Gastrointestinal MRI Research Group and drive this new research collaboration encompassing Medicine, Pharmacy, the world-famous Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre and the manufacturer of the capsule formulations. The work will also involve contributing to other projects from the team’s portfolio including image data analyses.
