Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for a lecturer/senior lecturer (including above the bar) to join the School of Pharmacy within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. This role plays a key part in developing, delivering, and evaluating high-quality teaching in clinical pharmacy practice, supporting the next generation of pharmacists to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.You will contribute to innovative teaching approaches, work collaboratively within an academic team, and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning across undergraduate and, where appropriate, postgraduate programmes.Key responsibilitiesDevelop, plan, deliver and evaluate teaching in clinical pharmacy practice within the undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy programmesLead, coordinate and deliver modules or courses, as agreed with the Head of School and senior academic leadershipDeliver teaching informed by current research, professional practice, and evidence-based approaches to learning and teachingEnhance student learning and engagement, responding constructively to student feedbackDevelop and implement innovations in teaching and assessment, and evaluate their impact through peer reviewLead and /or conduct impactful research that meets the needs of our communitiesContribute to service activities within the School, Faculty, and wider University communityThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position. We are ideally seeking someone who can commence in mid-October, however we are flexible on the start date for the right person.The salary for this role is based on skills and experience. The ranges are:Lecturer: $99,788 - $119,204Senior Lecturer: $126,863 - $158,904For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description.He kōrero mōu | About you | Our ideal candidateYou will be a registered pharmacist (or be eligible to register as a pharmacist) with a passion for teaching, research and developing future health professionals. You bring experience in clinical pharmacy practice and enjoy working collaboratively in both a clinical pharmacy and academic environment. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you are able to engage diverse learners and contribute positively to curriculum development and teaching innovation, and impactful research in our communities. You will have experience embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into your teaching and research.You are motivated by continuous improvement and value evidence-informed teaching practices. Are you experienced in relationship and team building?Have you completed at least two years of tertiary study or are an exceptional 2nd year student?Do you understand the importance of equity, diversity and inclusion and can foster a vibrant and safe community?Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the roleTe Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for Kaiārahi ā-kāinga rua - Residential Advisers to join the Campus Operations team on a fixed-term, part-time basis in 2027.The Directorate of Campus Operations actively engages with, supports, mentors and inspires our students, and provides them with a distinctively 'Te Herenga Waka’ experience.Key responsibilities:Living in the hall and reporting to the Tumuaki Taupuni - Head of Hall, Kaiārahi ā-kāinga rua - Residential Advisers (RAs) work closely with hall staff and the RA team to support, create, and maintain a welcoming and respectful hall community. RAs are required to be committed for the full academic year and gain experience working in a rewarding environment with a diverse range of students. RAs become a leader in the hall community, helping to connect students to the University student services. The RA teams, with support from management, plan and deliver engaging activities in the hall to help students meet new friends, succeed in their studies, and feel at home. RAs work approximately 30 hours per fortnight, consisting mainly of evening and weekend shifts. All successful applicants are required to complete a comprehensive training, starting late-January. We’re looking for someone who:Will be a 3rd year student or higher, or an exceptional 2nd year student.Is willing to live on-site and be an active member of the hall community.Is an experienced community builder, and is committed to fostering a vibrant, safe and supportive community. You will have experience working across cultures, including Māori and Pasifika, and can engage and communicate well with a diverse range of students.Can work approximately 30 hours a fortnight on a roster, mainly evening and weekend shifts (some weeks will be more involved than others).During the two-week compulsory training starting in late January, RAs will be required to work 40 hours per week.Is happy to complete a range of basic administrative and light cleaning tasks when requested.Enjoys living with lots of people, and coping with the vibrancy and high activity level that comes with living in a large community.Truly enjoys meeting and approaching new people, making them feel at ease, and can connect with others.Role Description: Click here to see further information, including salary details.
