It is an exciting time to be joining the University of Hull’s Infrastructure Services as we look to align the developing academic strategy with significant investment in the Estate. Our recently approved Master plan will see an substantial investment programme over the next five years, with further major investment up to 2032.
The Heating and Mechanical Services team forms part of the Estates Operations and Compliance section, which also includes asbestos management, BMS, building services, mechanical services, grounds and gardens maintenance, legionella management, multi-skilled trades assistants, customer support services and the electricians.
As part of the role you will be expected to conduct the following activities:
Reactive/emergency work, small project works and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
Carry out Skilled and skilled tasks associated with the repair, maintenance and/or installation of all plant, equipment, systems and building structure/fabric associated with all University properties spanning all trades within agreed SLAs.
- Assist in the inspection of equipment for insurance certification.
Be expected to work across multi-functional trades’ teams to ensure all works are completed within priority timescales and undertake all training required within the service.
The Heating and Mechanical Services team, supported by specialist contractors, is responsible for planned and reactive works on electrical installations and equipment throughout the University’s Estate incorporating a 24 hour provision, 365 days per year.
