Job Description:

The opportunity

Are you an experienced higher education professional who can combine extensive student administration knowledge with motivational leadership skills and a passion for improving the student experience? We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to help us:

Shape and implement strategies to enhance student services across the entire student lifecycle, from registration to graduation.

Enable innovative processes that support student wellbeing and success.

Drive change in academic services through digital transformation and process improvements.

Manage a large, diverse team to deliver high-quality, user-centred services.

Work with external stakeholders to ensure our services meet regulatory requirements and reflect best practice.

An understanding of the regulatory landscape, including UKVI and OfS compliance, would be desirable. More importantly, we’re looking for someone with an excellent track record of leading large, complex student services in a higher education institution.

The Students, Education and Academic Services

As part of the University’s senior leadership team you will lead the division to provide comprehensive support for students throughout their academic journey, including wellbeing, careers, immigration compliance, and quality assurance. You will lead a team of approximately 150 staff, working closely with senior leaders across the university to ensure services are aligned with strategic priorities.

About you?

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

Strong analytical skills, particularly in relation to service improvement and resource management.

Experience in managing a large, hybrid team, delivering complex services to a diverse student population.

A proven ability to lead and motivate teams to deliver transformational change in student and academic services.

Strategic decision-making experience in a large, complex organisation.

A collaborative approach to working with academic and professional services colleagues to deliver institutional goals.

Contract and contact:

This post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis with a hybrid work pattern, or you can choose to be fully on-campus. We are happy to discuss flexible working options.
