The University of Nottingham is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Science Research Assistant or Associate/Fellow within the Business Partnership Unit of the School of Chemistry.
The successful applicant will deliver a mass spectrometry-based research and development project on the use of photochemical protein footprinting techniques with potential industrial applications. Moreover, the role holder will work with the Business Partnership Unit to deliver other analytical projects for clients in the industry.
Business Science Fellowships are an established programme that offers the opportunity to develop experience of working at the interface of academia and business. The role provides an opportunity for suitably qualified individuals to develop further their research and scientific skills while working on knowledge exchange and industry-related projects.
Candidates applying to the Business Science Research Fellow/Associate role must have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in chemistry or biochemistry or a related discipline. Some experience working on industry-related projects and analysing proteins and in sample analysis by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry will be an advantage.
Candidates applying to the Business Science Research Assistant role must have, or be about to obtain, a Masters degree in chemistry or biochemistry or a related discipline. Some experience working on industry-related projects and analysing proteins and in sample analysis by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry will be an advantage.
The post will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 3 December 2025. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
