Job Description:

INTERNAL VACANCY

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.

Applications are invited for the role of Education and Student Experience (ESE) Senior Administrator, Chemistry based in the Faculty of Science. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with students and staff to support the development of an excellent student experience within the School of Chemistry.

The role holder will support the planning and successful delivery of the Chemistry ESE portfolio. This will include contributing to the planning, administration and management of the student lifecycle. You will work closely with the rest of the Chemistry team and the Faculty ESE team to help operationalise local activity related to the Faculty’s Education and Student Experience Strategic Aims. You will also plan, manage and deliver ESE events throughout the year.

Alongside the Chemistry student experience staff, the Head of ESE, and academic leads you will support and where appropriate, lead on identifying opportunities to improve the student experience. After initiatives have been agreed, you will support and/or manage the resulting projects to completion.

You will also support with collecting and analysing data related to a range of feedback routes such as the National Student Survey (NSS), Student Staff Fora (SSF) and local Chemistry surveys.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills will be crucial as you will collaborate with students, with academic and professional services staff across the faculty and institution, proactively engaging all stakeholders.

Along with a passion for working in partnership with students and exploring new ideas, applicants should have proven experience of building relationships with a range of stakeholders and be self-motivated to manage and deliver events and projects with minimal supervision.

This post is offered on a fixed term contract for 8 months. Hours of work are part time (21.75 hours).

Requests for secondment from internal candidates will be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Rebecca Craig. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
