Assistant Professor in Brewing Science (Fixed term)

The University of Nottingham seeks applications for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Assistant Professor in Brewing Science to join our internationally renowned team at the International Centre for Brewing Science (ICBS) at Sutton Bonington Campus. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of brewing training courses at Postgraduate, Apprenticeship and Operator levels.

Candidates must hold a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification. You will have considerable experience of brewery plant operations with strong knowledge of brewing engineering and packaging principles and practice. Experience of teaching, teaching administration or student supervision in a Higher Education setting is a requirement of the role. You will be a capable communicator who can inspire students’ passion to learn and adapt your training style to suit cohorts of differing knowledge and experience.

The ICBS is part of the Division of Microbiology, Brewing and Biotechnology in the School of Biosciences, which is internationally recognised as a leader in its field for the provision of both research and teaching. The campus is self-contained on a 16-hectare site located in South Nottinghamshire. A purpose-built Bioenergy & Brewing Science Building was opened in 2011, housing state of the art brewing facilities comprising laboratory, analytical and pilot scale facilities which support the research of a community of Postgraduate and Post-doctoral scientists as well as the delivery of a range of specialist Brewing courses.

Candidates should have excellent organisation, time management and communication skills.

This is a part-time (18.12 hours/week) fixed-term post for a period of 1 year.
