We are seeking applicants interested in this diverse role responsible for providing a range of research administrative and co-ordination support to the Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS). The post plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the research portfolio and programme is supported and delivered effectively. The post holder will be expected to work closely with a small core operational team spread across both within the Centre for Health Services Studies at the University of Kent (based at the Canterbury campus) and at the NHS host, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The role requires close working with research leads, researchers and other ARC KSS administrative staff as required in order to support the successful research delivery and implementation of ARC KSS research findings.
As a ARC KSS Research Co-ordinator you can expect to be involved in :
- Dealing with enquiries from staff and external contacts, exercising judgement and initiative to ensure that only relevant issues are passed to manager(s) and are otherwise dealt with or routed elsewhere. Compose replies to correspondence as appropriate.
- Maintaining ARC KSS database records and/or other activity logs of projects/activities so that an accurate record of work is available to support research delivery and for reporting purposes.
- Disseminating ARC KSS news and activities within the University through staff news and other comms links. Maintain and update the ARC KSS and/or CHSS/PSSRU department webpages when appropriate.
- Coordinating information from a range of internal and external sources to provide input to research projects or ARC KSS core activities and create a range of documents, charts, tables and presentations to support research projects where required.
What will you bring to the role :
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent
- Experience and understanding of working within a Higher Education/local authority or health research environment
- Working knowledge of a range of administrative skills within a research support role
- High level of attention to detail
