We are looking for an enthusiastic Delivery Driver to join our busy IT stores team within the University’s IT Asset and Configuration Management service. This role is located at Highfield Campus, with a requirement to travel to/work at other campuses regularly.
About the Role
Working as an integral part of the stores team you will deliver essential IT equipment to our staff at the University’s many sites around Southampton, Winchester and the surrounding area. Our customers are also our colleagues, so a friendly manner and excellent customer service skills are essential to this role.
What you’ll do
- Delivering IT equipment to customers across multiple sites
- Driving and maintaining a large Transit-style van
- Safely loading and unloading IT equipment and more
- Handling customer queries
- Tracking customers down who may not be where they said they’ll be
- Recording all deliveries
- Receiving goods – including unloading deliveries from suppliers in a safe manner
- Assist in keeping the stores spaces tidy and free of hazards, reporting any potential hazards
What you’ll bring
- Your fabulous customer service skills
- Your careful driving skills – deliveries are not against the clock, so care is more important than speed!
- Your ability to plan routes and follow directions, and also to re-plan routes when road works / traffic congestion and other challenges call for a flexible approach
- Your attention to detail and patience
