INTERNAL VACANCY

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.

Applications are invited for the role of Research Finance Officer in the School of Life Sciences to provide expert administrative support for the School’s portfolio of research funding activity from the application stage (pre-award) to the setting up of and monitoring of live projects (post-award). The role-holder will work alongside another Research Finance Officer and under the direction of the Research Finance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in financial administration to join the School’s dynamic Research Development Team and contribute to the exciting Life Sciences research that takes place at the University of Nottingham.

You should have excellent numeracy and communication skills, and the ability to extract and interpret financial data for reporting. You should work well as part of a team and also be able to prioritise your own tasks and work to tight deadlines. You should have knowledge of the research funding landscape and an understanding of research funding costing models. Previous experience working in financial administration within the higher education sector is desired but not essential.

The post is fixed term until 31st July 2025 and is offered on a full time basis(36.25 hours per week). However, we are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
