Are you a motivated researcher with an interest in political science and education policy? Join our team at the University of Kent in Canterbury, to support Dr Paolo Dardanelli on an exciting project funded by the Thyssen Foundation: ‘Territorial Inequality in Education’. This collaborative research initiative, involving Freie Universität Berlin and Cardiff University, examines the effects of decentralisation on territorial inequality in education and its implications for equity and democratic stability.
As a Research Assistant, you will play a key role in data collection, research analysis, and coordination efforts, focusing on regional education policies in France, Italy, and Spain. This role offers the opportunity to engage with a diverse research team and contribute to impactful academic work.
As a Research Assistant you can expect to be involved in:
- performing literature reviews and searches of sources (including legislation and regulations)
- writing up research results
- maintaining records and databases, documenting the research outputs
- assisting with the project planning, and participating in team meetings
What will you bring to the role?
- A bachelor’s degree in political science or a cognate discipline, or equivalent qualification/experience
- Experience of social science research
- Reading fluency in either French, Italian or Spanish
- Excellent skills in planning and prioritisation and ability to meet deadlines
