    Job Description:

    Part time role 15 hours per week, providing quality administrative & relationship support to enable the effective delivery of Indigenous climate resilience initiatives.

    Mō te tūka | The role

    Based in our Kāika Institute of Climate Resilience office, this role plays a vital part in supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the Institute and the delivery of its strategic objectives. You’ll work closely with the Director, research staff, and a wide range of partners to provide trusted administrative support and help strengthen meaningful relationships across the University and beyond.

    Some tasks of the role include:

    • Supporting the Director to maintain strong relationships with mana whenua, iwi and Indigenous partners
    • Coordinating internal and external communications and stakeholder interactions
    • Providing administrative support for research grants, funding applications, and supporting documentation
    • Assisting with research contract preparation and coordinating contract approvals
    • Maintaining accurate records and data in key systems
    • Responding to general queries and supporting day‑to‑day Institute operations

    This is a varied and people‑focused role that supports Indigenous‑led climate resilience research through effective coordination, communication, and organisation.

    Mahi & Wāhi / Utu | Work pattern, location & salary

    This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 15 hours per week (0.4 FTE). The salary for this position is $65,000–$70,000 per annum FTE, pro rata to part time hours, depending on experience.

    You will bring:

    • A tertiary qualification in business administration or equivalent experience in an administrative support role
    • Proven experience providing administrative support in a complex organisation
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
    • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
    • A client‑focused, professional approach and high level of discretion
    • An understanding of, or openness to working within, Māori and Indigenous research contexts
