    We’re looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in International Conflict Analysis to join the School of Economics, Politics and International Relations on an Education and Research contract. You’ll contribute to innovative teaching, undertake high-quality research, and support the School’s work in Peace and Conflict Studies, International Security and International Relations. Teaching capacity in quantitative methods and/or the theory and practice of negotiations may be an advantage.

    The role is suited to candidates with a strong research record and trajectory, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs, build external relationships and enhance the University’s research profile. Appointment at Senior Lecturer level will require evidence of a higher standard of achievement, including research leadership, external funding success and contribution to the strategic development of teaching, research and/or knowledge exchange activity.

    As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in International Conflict Analysis you can expect to be involved in:

    • Delivering and contributing to the design of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
    • Undertaking an independent research programme that supports the School and University research strategy
    • Disseminating research through high-quality publications, conferences and external engagement
    • Contributing to programme development, student support, research funding activity and wider School initiatives

    What will you bring to the role?

    • A PhD in Political Science, International Relations or another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience/qualification
    • A record of high-quality research outputs in Political Science, International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Security or a related field
    • Experience delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessment in a higher education setting
    • Specialist knowledge and research methods expertise relevant to Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science or International Relations
