The Clinical Trials Research Unit within the Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials Research (LICTR) is an international leader in the field of clinical trials. The Unit is one of the largest in the UK and conducts national and international randomised and early phase clinical trials in a variety of clinical fields. Our main aim is to develop and support novel and efficient trials to change clinical practice for the better. Our past results and current research have already helped to do this. Our results inform the academic development of this specialised field of clinical research on a national and international level. Particularly, we specialise in the development, optimisation and evaluation of complex interventions, complex phase III trials and efficient phase I/II trials, as well as adaptive designs, seamless phase II/III designs and biomarker driven designs.You will be a talented and dynamic individual with a postgraduate qualification, including a major statistical component, and an interest in evaluating novel treatments or interventions of pharmaceuticals, radiotherapy, surgery, medical devices or complex interventions.You will join a large, well-established group of statisticians and will work on trials designed to answer questions of real importance that will contribute to improved care pathways and patient outcomes across a range of long-term health conditions of strategic importance to NHS, patients and social care.You will have opportunities to research, apply and develop statistical methodology, together with general consulting and training of health professionals. The Tari Takawaeka Kura (Schools’ Liaison Office) is a team of 12 with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. We visit secondary schools all over New Zealand during Terms 1 and 2 each year to let senior students know about the opportunities for living and learning at Ōtākou. Then we return in Terms 3 and 4 to help students plan their studies.The role | Te mahiAs a Kaitakawaenga (Schools’ Liaison Officer) within Te Ringa Toroa (External Engagement Division), you will be instrumental in encouraging and helping secondary school students to enrol at the University, supporting them through the transition to tertiary studies.Alongside one other Liaison Officer and a Co-ordinator based in the Dunedin office, you will visit secondary schools across the Southland, Otago and Canterbury, informing intending students about all aspects of enrolment at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka and about undergraduate student life in Dunedin.
