A top 10 university in The Complete University Guide 2025 and are joint 10th place in the UK national league tables, we are also highly ranked in international league tables such as the QS World Rankings.Information Systems Services (ISS) is looking to appoint an enthusiastic IT Engineer to join the Campus IT Engineer team, supporting IT Services at Lancaster University.As an IT Engineer, you will join a faculty-based team providing second-line technical support to users of the University’s IT services. In this role, you will offer both on-site and remote technical support to end users. Utilising ITIL-based processes to handle incidents and service requests, you will tackle a wide range of technical challenges, provide advice, and perform preventative maintenance to support the University’s teaching, research, and administrative functions. This includes collaborating with our AV services team to support IT and audio-visual equipment in various learning spaces.Additionally, you will work with the broader teams in ISS to help support the delivery of new and existing services. A key part of your role will involve participating in completing the campus-wide deployment of Windows 11. An experience of working in a team-based IT service environment, as well as knowledge of PC and Audio-Visual systems in use at Higher Education or equivalent establishments will be advantageous. You will combine your IT and problem-solving skills with a strong user-focus to ensure an excellent service to the user community. This post will be normal business hours based on campus, however on occasion there will be opportunities to undertake paid work outside those hours. The Tari Takawaeka Kura (Schools’ Liaison Office) is a team of 12 with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. We visit secondary schools all over New Zealand during Terms 1 and 2 each year to let senior students know about the opportunities for living and learning at Ōtākou. Then we return in Terms 3 and 4 to help students plan their studies.The role | Te mahiAs a Kaitakawaenga (Schools’ Liaison Officer) within Te Ringa Toroa (External Engagement Division), you will be instrumental in encouraging and helping secondary school students to enrol at the University, supporting them through the transition to tertiary studies.Alongside one other Liaison Officer and a Co-ordinator based in the Dunedin office, you will visit secondary schools across the Southland, Otago and Canterbury, informing intending students about all aspects of enrolment at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka and about undergraduate student life in Dunedin. You will enjoy working with young people and have extensive experience in this area.Presenting to large groups of secondary school students in schools, as well as on a larger scale at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka information evenings will appeal to you. You will regularly meet with intending students and their families, assisting them with their decision-making and helping them to plan the first year of their degree, as well as interacting with relevant university staff and departments on behalf of the wider Liaison team. The Clinical Trials Research Unit within the Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials Research (LICTR) is an international leader in the field of clinical trials. The Unit is one of the largest in the UK and conducts national and international randomised and early phase clinical trials in a variety of clinical fields. Our main aim is to develop and support novel and efficient trials to change clinical practice for the better. Our past results and current research have already helped to do this. Our results inform the academic development of this specialised field of clinical research on a national and international level. Particularly, we specialise in the development, optimisation and evaluation of complex interventions, complex phase III trials and efficient phase I/II trials, as well as adaptive designs, seamless phase II/III designs and biomarker driven designs.You will be a talented and dynamic individual with a postgraduate qualification, including a major statistical component, and an interest in evaluating novel treatments or interventions of pharmaceuticals, radiotherapy, surgery, medical devices or complex interventions.You will join a large, well-established group of statisticians and will work on trials designed to answer questions of real importance that will contribute to improved care pathways and patient outcomes across a range of long-term health conditions of strategic importance to NHS, patients and social care.You will have opportunities to research, apply and develop statistical methodology, together with general consulting and training of health professionals. You will be involved in a wide range of statistical activities, including designing, conducting, analysing and publicising clinical trials, preparing grant applications and presenting at national and international conferences. You will work closely, interactively and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary project team, including statisticians, programmers, clinicians, health economists, health service researchers and trial managers.
